CHRISTMAS IS GOD'S SON #055The Bible says, "When the fullness of time came, God sent forth His Son" (Galatians 4:4). The God spoken of here is the Creator, the One who made everything out of nothing in the space of six days. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). The Son spoken of is the One who existed eternally with the Father (John 1:1). He is the only One who is by nature the Son of God (John 1:14). Others are adopted sons and daughters. This Son is a divine and supernatural person who is Himself God. This divine Son of God was sent from God the Father. He therefore left the presence of God which is in heaven, a place "not of this creation" (Hebrews 9:11). He came "into the world" (John 3:17). Finally, this same Son of God was sent forth by God to perform a specific task. He came "to give His life a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45). He came to die on a cross to give His life in payment for the sins of people like you and me. Think about it. Can you celebrate Christmas without this view of God and His Son? To celebrate the birth of Jesus, you must worship the Creator. We must celebrate God sending His supernatural Son into the world as the God-man.
