Hidden

"For... your life is now hidden with Christ in God." Colossians 3:3

A perfect day for a mid-morning walk, before the heat of the day settled in like a damp blanket.

As my husband rounded the bend, he asked, "Did you see that squirrel?" No, I hadn't. I peered into the woods. Still couldn't see it.

"He's right there", Ben said.

I was determined to see it. As I kept scanning, I stepped closer. There it was, amazingly camouflaged. Ha! "No wonder I didn't see it", I thought. It blended right into the sticks and brushy leaves.

That little animal was so perfectly hidden. Reminded me of the verse in the Bible where it talks about us being hidden in Christ. I thought again of how it's all about Him, not me/us.

Today, Lord, let me be hidden in You, so that what is visible is you and not me.
