Talk to God About It - Message #091What's the trouble? Getting old? Confronted with illness? Had a family crisis? Worrying about work? Talk to God about it. That's right. Get down on your hands and knees and pray! Sure, it may seem a little embarrassing. Since you are used to handling your troubles yourself, you don't like being dependent upon anyone. And you have always said religion is a crutch. But now you need help. Well, God is in the business of giving help. The Bible says, "Humble yourself, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:6- 7). Yes, you must humble yourself before God. You must bow before God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Prayer is a way of doing just that. It shows your dependence upon God. Of course, you want to be on top of life and in charge of every situation. In reality, you aren't. But the mighty God is in control. He really is. So don't let your pride keep you from turning to God in prayer. It would be a real tragedy to miss the help you need. Cast all your worries and troubles on God. He can handle them. In fact, "Your Father knows what you need, before you ask Him" (Matthew 6:8).
