The Truth

Raising kids is a great challenge. You need to be conversant in culture, music and fashion. You have to be able to take care of medical emergencies, broken toys, interpersonal relationships, and lost teddy bears. You have to discern when you are being lied to!

On many occasions when my children have challenged me to figure out if they are lying. They don't say it in so many words, but the challenge is still there. As I listen to conflicting stories from my kids, I know at least one has to be lying. Mom is gifted to "see through" things, while I have to rely only on the facts, even if the answer may seem improbable.

The people of the days following Christ's death and resurrection were faced with a similar situation. Jesus' disciples were proclaiming that they had seen a risen Christ. Those who had guarded Jesus' tomb were instructed by the religious leaders to say, "His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep" (Matthew 28:13). Those people had the same choices we have today; we have to rely on the facts.

The facts overwhelmingly support the truth of the bodily Resurrection of Jesus. Check out the facts; accept the truth. Remember today that Jesus is alive and has a claim on your life.
