Enjoy the Morning Sonrise"But I cry to you for help, O Lord; in the morning my prayer comes before you." Psalm 88: 13 Imagine yourself as the morning alarm starts to ring. You grumble, roll over and hit the snooze button, not once but maybe twice, before you roll out of bed to start your day. Now imagine if Jesus was that alarm ringing in your ear saying, "I'm here, get up, I want to hear from you!" Now is the time to stop thinking the alarm is your enemy. Think of it as your chance to get up early and enjoy the Sonrise. Instead of a "snooze" button, think of it as your "rejoice" alarm, giving you extra time with the Lord to praise Him and to lift your requests to Him. Mark 1:5, reminds us that "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place where he prayed." Jesus knew the beauty of morning prayer, petition and praise. He enjoyed the special time of renewal and refreshment that comes only from time of fellowship with God. This time of cleansing is so pleasing to God and it prepares your heart and mind for the new day ahead. David writes in Psalm 5: "In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice." Ask yourself, what does the Lord hear from me each morning? It is groaning, complaining or maybe even worse? Remember, He's waiting for you to come and seek Him, love Him and offer your day to Him. So, the next time the alarm is blaring and you reach to stop it, remind yourself that it could be God calling your name to get up and enjoy the new day He has set before you. Enjoy the Sonrise and the many blessings our Lord presents to you as dawn breaks. Now, before you go to sleep tonight, be sure to set that REJOICE alarm a few minutes earlier!
