Feeding Frenzy

"Then the godly shall shine as the sun in their Father's kingdom." Matthew 13:43

The afternoon was gray and dismal; the blanket of clouds provided a gray backdrop for the Atlantic Ocean. The dunes between our rented condo and the ocean appeared to be like all the other dunes in the area. Tall grass, scrubby sea oats, a few low growing cabbage palms peppered the area; nothing exciting or unusual. About 4 o'clock in the afternoon, the sea gulls began to gather. The squawking they sounded made me think they called all their friends and relatives to the spot right in front of our condo! They flew to a spot on a knoll and began to feed. They seemed unaware of my viewing them from the porch, or of the other people walking by on the beach. They were in their own "little slice of heaven", oblivious to everything else.

Sometimes our weeks, months and even years go by seeming drab and dismal. The gray blanket of life's clouds may smother us with dreary circumstances and obligations, unresolved fears, and prideful problems. Life may not hold a lot of excitement or delight for us, but the time will come when that will change. When we go to the Father's House, we learn in Matthew 13, those who love the Lord shall shine as the sun. No more dreary, dull, drab, gray times for us! No sir! We will shine as the sun- very bright, healed and whole, radiating His love. These words are certainly a comfort to me, and I hope they are to you, also. Let's share the good news with others, as the birds did with their feast in the dunes.
