Letting Go To EmbraceAs I write this Daily Wisdom, I am in a hotel room in another city. During this time when I will be away for two weeks, I decided to also unplug from some of my typical life routines which tend to bring me into work mode. Sure, the hotel I am in has free Internet access which would allow me to check my email, and drift into that same "busy mode" again, but a little breather is something I like to take now and then, as it gives me a renewed sense of purpose and appreciation. Since my family is also with me as we join my husband on business, my main goal is to spend some uninterrupted one-on-one time with my eighteen-year-old daughter, and to refresh myself with God's word. Just yesterday my daughter and I went to a shop to enjoy a beauty procedure. We giggled and talked excitedly the whole time, which of course, warmed my heart. Later, she confided in me about a troublesome issue she was experiencing with a friend. How special it was to engage in this precious moment between mother and daughter! It is these times that are really what life is about; our ability to touch and make a difference in the lives of others. It seems to me that something we need is to get away in order to arrive at that emotional place where we are ready and receptive to make a positive change. Sometimes it will be a renewing of a promise, similar to what I did, or it may be a dramatic change in one's life. The ability to renew, refresh, cleanse and transform is what God is all about. It is He who calls us to positive change; to release the negative chains that bind us so that we may be spotless and free. Won't you join me in making a change today?
