A Canadian friend of ours told us about his dual citizenship in Canada and the United States. The thought of belonging to two countries and the complications that were entailed in this situation boggled my mind. I began to think about how that is exactly what each Christian has: a dual citizenship. God tells us in His Word, in Philippians 3:20, that our citizenship is in heaven. What a great place to belong to!The implications of the life forever into eternity in heaven are breathtaking and beautiful, exciting and rewarding, divine and delightful. What a leader we have! What peace, joy and awe will be ours forever when we finally move from the earth to heaven. It will be wonderful, but in the meantime, we know that we are also citizens of an earthly home. I believe there is a duty to each, with an obedience to God and His commands. When the two citizenships have conflicting views, I will stand with the other citizens of heaven, singing,"Our God is an awesome God, who reigns on heaven and earth, with wisdom, power and love, our God is an awesome God." How about you? You have a dual citizenship right now, also, if you are a believer and have accepted the good news of Jesus. If not, today is the day to make the decision to be a part of the citizenship of heaven. It is easily done, by asking Jesus to live in your heart and be your Lord and Savior while you abide here on earth. Don't delay!
