Discipline
How does one train himself in Godliness? First we must know the model we are desiring to be like. We must cultivate a relationship with Him and know who He is, what He is about, what He is like, what His values and standards are, and how He expects us to follow His example. For this very reason, God sent Jesus into the world, so that we might have an example, in human form, of Godliness. Jesus was so disciplined that He spent forty days in the wilderness, without food or any earthly comforts, and then endured a confrontation with satan. He walked miles and miles on dusty roads, so that He could share the Good News with others. He endured physical discomforts, emotional scarring and spiritual weight on His shoulders while He lived on this earth. But He also laughed with joy, went to weddings, enjoyed fellowship and sang wholeheartedly. He called humanity to follow Him, but in order to do so, it takes discipline. Now is the time to start this discipline process, if we have not already done so. Lets exercise our privilege of following Him to the fullest in our lives.
