Communications Default
The dictionary defines communication as "the exchange of thoughts or message", and default as "the failure to perform a task". That certainly defined my problem of the moment, but I began to wonder if I have other communication defaults in my life. Many times I have made a statement to my husband, and he has completely misunderstood it. That is a problem! Also, the same scenario has happened with my children. Actually, this has happened with many people I know, making me wonder about my communication skills. The good news is that my communication line with the Lord is straight and true. I know He never misunderstands me or only partially listens. When I pray, I know He is giving me His full attention. I pray out loud sometimes, through song sometimes and silently quite often. In the Bible, I Thessalonians 5:17, we are told to pray without ceasing. That means keeping God in your mind and running all of your thoughts, delights and desires by Him. The results: pray, and the promise is (Philippians 4:7 God will give us His peace. That is a wonderful promise from God to us, and one I want to be foremost in my life. How about you? Today is the first day of the rest of our lives. Let's keep God involved in our lives today- through continuous prayer.
