Feather Comforter
Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 Winter has finally arrived with brisk winds, barren trees, and a nip in the air.(Quitemild so far, here in Atlanta.)How I love to open our bedroom windows at night and enjoy the refreshing air as it circulates around us while we sleep. However, the temperature drops as the night wears on, and the nip can be downright cold before too long. That is when I pull the feather comforter around me and snuggle deep within it. The warmth I sense is so good, and the feathers never give me a feeling of being smothered. There is no excess weight or tightness as I snuggle deeply into the comfort provided for me.
That is just how God's love is. It envelops us with warmth and security, as His wondrous arms encircle us. He would never smother or be a heavy burden to us - He only wants to love and care for His children. What a wonderful God we have!
