Wonderful Words

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105I have had a love affair with words since I was a young girl.It is delicious to roll them around on my tongue and in my mind. It is amazing how words come in so many flavors and languages.  It's also challenging to hunt for just the right word.  For example: Around five o'clock = somewhere in the neighborhood of 5:00.  About five o'clock = approximately five. Close to five o'clock = near the specified hour. Just at five o'clock = precisely 5:00 PM.

Words can be wonderful!  The very best words of all are living words: the Bible.  There is the New International Version, King James Version (and New KJV), Good News, Living Bible (and New Living), Amplified, The Message, Revised Standard Version, as well as other versions.

It's uncanny how the words in any of these bibles speak to us wherever we are in life. The words are amazing, wise, and wonderful.  If you haven't picked a bible up in awhile, find one, dust off the cover and dig in.  Or go to www.Biblegateway.com on the internet. In the words of an old hymn I learned years ago at my Grandma's church during summer visits, "Sing them over again to me, wonderful words of life!"
