An Invitation: Part 2Of course it is, and that is what LOVE is all about! Satan is a deceiver, and he tempts us through our senses; what we see, touch and hear. God, however, speaks to us and wants us to discern, using our spirits. Things we know are wrong, such as adultery, lying or cheating, are made to seem appealing because they might FEEL good, or they might seem to help further our careers, or get us out of tight situations, but once satan has ensnared us, the rug is pulled out from under us, and we watch as our marriage falls apart, we lose custody of our children, and we are fired from our job. Satan rejoices over evil, but God tells us to steer clear of evil because He knows its dangers. It is not God's desire to cramp our style simply because He doesn't want us to have any fun. He warns us to run from evil, and have no dealings with it because He loves so very much. Many people who are now Christians are so because they have dabbled in evil mindsets and lifestyles, and they know first-hand how destructive it was to their life. What started off as enjoyable and fun turned into misery and heartache. God has His hand outstretched to all of us, but being the loving Father He is, He does not force or trick us into coming in to His tender embrace. He wants us to come willingly, knowingly and with a sincere heart. God knows and understands our weaknesses and mistakes. He is not here to condemn us, but to provide those of us who seek a better way- His way- with mercy, forgiveness and peace. Like the most complete shower, His grace forever washes away our past sins, and we are refreshed and purified. However, God will set us in the right direction, but it is up to us to walk forward on this path of godliness. There may be times when we stumble and fall, but God is quick to come to the aid of those who call upon Him with a sincere heart. As someone who truly cares about you, I too, invite you to enter into the body of Christ, to abandon your past sinful ways, and to cleave to that which is good and godly. All that is required is a sincere prayer/talk with God telling Him you are sorry for your past sins, that you will have no further part in evil, that you desire to be washed clean by the blood He shed for your and my sins. God does not need your fancy words, only your genuine heart.
