Vacuum Cleaner

"Your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake." I John 2:12
It was time for the weekly chore which I most disliked- vacuuming.I dragged out the vacuum cleaner, attached the carpet hose and went to work. The machine sucked up all the threads, fuzz and dirt bits off the carpet, pulling them into the machine. Next, I used the floor attachment, and went to work on the hardwoods. In addition to the previous things I had vacuumed, I now had dust bunnies to collect, and a little food debris in the kitchen. Finally I took the brush attachment on a long pole to reach the hidden places behind the bed. I knew I needed to do this task or the place would really be a mess; dirty and dusty and most uninviting.

God knew humanity needed to have our sins vacuumed away, once and for all, or our lives would really be a dirty and uninviting mess to Him. He took all the dirt we were born with, which is called sin, and which is unacceptable in His sight. God hates sin, so He has given us a plan to remove it from our lives. He sent Jesus to bear or sins- from the big, dirty ones, to the ones which we think are small and insignificant, to the ones not easily seen (like the dust behind the bed).

Jesus took with Him to the cross all of our sins- once and for all. If we acknowledge that we are sinners, ask Jesus to be lord of our lives and accept His saving grace, we can be sure that our sins are forgiven. We thank you, Father, for this miraculous clean up plan you have provided for our lives.
