One God, Three Persons #117For one thing, God knows everything. Many people think they know everything. But only God knows everything. That's why God says, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts higher than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:9). God also reveals Himself to us in the Bible as One God in three persons. Now that does not seem at all logical. But this does not mean the Bible is not true. God the Father is God. There is no dispute about this. God the Son, that is, Jesus Christ, is also God. The Bible says He "alone possesses immortality" (1 Timothy 6:16). Because Jesus Christ is the source of all life, He must be God. Then too, the Holy Spirit is God. The Holy Spirit is not some kind of force, as the force in Star Wars. The Holy Spirit is God. "God is Spirit" (John 4:24). God's Spirit is the Holy Spirit. Our response to this might be the same as King David's in Psalms 149:6, "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to it". If you do not believe these things to be true, you do not believe in the God of the Bible. If you do not believe in the God of the Bible, you cannot really be a Christian.
