Canopy
This week I saw a canopy in nature. The Live Oak trees in Savannah, Georgia were planted long ago oneach side of the roads in that area. Today, so many years later, their branchesreach together, forming a canopy over the road. The picture is one to behold. The Spanish moss hangs gracefully and sways gently in the breeze most of the time. The cover is so dense in some places that it obliterates the view of the sky. God has given us a canopy, also. He tells us in the Bible that He wants to gather us like a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wing. She does it to protect them- unequivocally. This is similar to having God as our heavenly umbrella. An umbrella is only as good as our use of it. Just as the chicks run to their mother, we can run to God, receiving protection from the rains of life. We are under His umbrella of security, but we must choose to open it in order to receive God's divine shelter and protection. Remember, He is always willing to call His "chicks" (us) under His Holy Wings. Let's listen for the call!
