Dripping Faucet

"A nagging spouse is like the drip, drip, drip of a leaky faucet; you cant turn it off and you cant get away from it" Proverbs 27:15 (The Message)
I sat by the pool on our trip to Winter Haven, Florida, not to get a suntan, but to kick back and be comfortable in a relaxing setting. The sun was shining, breeze blowing and book interesting. Just right, I thought. Before long, a man turned on the shower to wash off. Not a problem; it only took a minute. However, the shower faucet had a slight defect; it wouldn't turn off. The constant drip of the faucet was most annoying. King Solomon knew that many, many years ago when he wrote the above proverb.

The dictionary defines nagging as "to pester or annoy by constant scolding, complying, urging or finding fault, or to torment with anxiety, discomfort or doubt" Now I wouldn't go so far to say that the faucet next to me was as bad as a nagging person, but I did get up and move!

I wondered if I am a nag to anyone. I don't want to pester or annoy others with the above definition, but when I think I am right, I can be quite persistent. Maybe it is better for me to mention my ideas, theories and plans just once, and leave the rest to God. He is more than able to handle all that comes into our lives, once we give the reigns to Him. Yes, that is what I will do!

If you have been in the same boat as I, maybe you would also like to give God control. It's a smart plan; then no one will move away from you as I did from the shower faucet that February day in Florida!
