A Little Late

"For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers." I Peter 3:12
I was quite amused as our daughter decorated her Christmas tree two days after Christmas.A little late, I thought, but kept my ideas to myself, as any smartmother would do! She did explain the situation to me however, and it made perfect sense. She and her husband were called out of town before they could put ornaments on their tree. They were gone until the day after Christmas, but were planning to have a New Year's Eve party at their home. Naturally, they wanted their tree to look its best; hence, the decorating began post Christmas day. Their timing was just right for their need.

When we pray and don't get an answer immediately, we may ask God why, why, why and when, when when? Why not now? Why not soon? Don't you hear me?

Yes, God hears the prayers of the righteous, but He sees the big picture, and knows what is best for us. We see the short term picture and know what WE want. There certainly is a difference. Perhaps we should pray for patience as we wait for Him to answer, and check our requests, making sure they line up with the Word of God. If we do this, it will be easier to wait for unanswered prayers.
