Shadows

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I will strengthen you; I will help you.I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.Have you ever noticed how shadows seem bigger than life?Sometimes when I go for a walk, my shadow goes with me, and looks much larger than I am. I have also seen shadows on the ceiling and walls of my bedroom, looking for pictures in them, but noticing how much larger they are than life! Recently on a plane trip I was fortunate to get a window seat, and enjoyed the view. There were many puffy clouds that day, as we started our descent, and I could see the shadows of them very clearly. They, too, seemed bigger than the original cloud casting the shadow. I saw so many clouds as we flew along, thinking this is how life is. We are handed many things in life which cast a shadow upon us. Many times the dark reflection of the problem seems bigger than the problem itself. We have a tendency to worry and make things worse than they are, if we are not careful. Fretting continuously, may make us physically, emotionally and spiritually ill. The best thing to do is to give our problems to God, seek His wisdom in the situation, and let go. For He is most capable to handle all we give Him, and moreover, He wants us to turn to Him, for He is always ready and willing to comfort and help us. Let's remember that the next time the shadows of life try to overtake us.
