Real BeautyWhen I first met my husband, what initially sparked my interest in him was not his outward appearance which is pleasant to be sure, but his character which revealed a precious gem of a man. His belly did not possess tight abs of steal and his head was folliclely-challenged, but his personality which exuded confidence, intelligence, sensitivity, and a general comfort with himself, not only allowed me to feel more at ease in his presence, but these attributes acted as a strong magnet which made me want to know more of him. We are not what our external coverings portray us to be for I have known attractive people who have the ugliest of hearts, and the most plain individuals whose characters are stunningly beautiful. We place so much time and effort into prettying up our outer shell, yet fail to give any attention to our more precious commodity; our inner essence. Looks inevitably fade with time, and physical appearance alone will never sustain a relationship, nor will bring its beholder true joy. Now is the time to lay it on the line, to strip away the games and deceptive lies, and to simply be who we truly are. As the old saying goes, "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you cannot please all of the people all of the time." Break free of this impossible standard of living for the world, and try living for truth and love. Peace and joy will then be yours. If you want to know more about truth and love, then there is only one way: God. In God is only truth, and the energy and power which He is made up of is love. Stop living for the impossible standards of the word, and live for the only truth there is: God.
