The Loving Hands of God #259As the lament of Christ echoes throughout the universe, the people of God sing this antiphonal response, "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39). Yes, Jesus Christ suffers ultimate separation from the Father. He undergoes all the wrath of hell itself. He does this so those who trust in His sacrifice will never have to suffer this same separation from the Father. Believers can therefore have the confidence of being forever in the loving and merciful hands of God.
