Impressions from God? #193Too often we are told to yield to such impressions. This is how we yield to God. However, Romans 6:13 says, "Yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God." What does it really mean to yield to God? Yielding to God does not involve inner mystical experiences. Yielding to God refers to our actions. We yield to God's commands. We obey God. When you see a YIELD sign on the highway, you obey by slowing down. The same word is translated "present" in Romans 12:1, "Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God." You present your body to God by obeying His word given in the Bible. As the gospel song says, "Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." As the Bible says, "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice" (1 Samuel 15:22).
