Penthouse View

Staying at the Hilton on Westheimer Road in Houston, Tex. was a treat for me. The amenities of the hotel and the immediate access to the freeway were nice. The entire area looked to be commercial until I had the opportunity to view it from a different perspective. A friend invited us to the concierge level for drinks and snack, and as I looked at the area below from the spacious windows, I was surprised. Across the street from the hotel were a neighborhood and two horse farms. They were obliterated from sight at ground level by a wall covered with honeysuckle vine. However, the view from above showed all- beautiful horses, a barn, main house, paddocks and feeding troth. I was amazed- what a layout before me, but from ground level I couldnt see a thing.

The same is true in life. We look at others from our "ground level" view, therefore missing so much. We see just what is before us, and God forgive us, we may judge accordingly. Thank heavens, God sees us from a different perspective He views us from on high, and sees over the walls(good or bad) we have built. God looks directly into our innermost being and knows the intention of our heart. Many times it is the person who seems unworthy in our eyes who is most honored by God. The Bible tells us we will be surprised when we see who makes it through the Pearly Gates- for the eyes of the Lord roam from east to west looking for the righteous ones.

May He touch the heart of each of us that we might not be judgmental, but live our lives walking in love, as He commanded.
