Up Ahead
Recently, I was asked to make a speech before a district group much older and more educated than myself. I was frightened until I remembered that God had always promised us that He never called His people to do a job without empowering them to do His work. Throughout the bible there are stories of God calling and then supporting. In Exodus 3:11, God told Moses "I will be with you." I felt surely that God had called me to do this for Him. I knew instinctively that He would also be by my side and give me power to make the speech. As the day approached, I asked God to strengthen and empower me. I felt self-confidence flow into me. Even though I had requested a microphone, my voice came out strong and clear, even when the microphone failed. I felt the presence of God with me all through the day.
