Resurrection Hope #244Then, after He was crucified and buried, Christ did rise again. Fantasy? Not at all. There were many eyewitnesses. He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time (1 Corinthians 15:56). Not only so, these eyewitnesses were dramatically changed. After Christ was crucified, they hid. They locked themselves in an upper room. When Christ appeared to them, they boldly proclaimed the resurrection. The Christian hope of eternal life is based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. As the apostle Paul said, If there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain (1 Corinthians 15:1314).
