Pizza

We had home made pizza for dinner the other night, and were delighted when it was hot and ready to eat. The aroma was inciting and as we took our first bites, the Italian dish proving so delicious and palatable.

It came out of the oven in one piece - no beginning and no end - ready to slice. No one minded taking the first piece, but all were hesitant to take the last. There is something about taking the final piece of food in our society- it is just a "no no". When the last piece is gone, the meal is finished; over; the end!

I imagine you know where I am going with this story - the beginning and the end. God, creator of the universe, has no beginning and no end. He WAS before our world was formed, and WILL BE forevermore. The Bible tells us three times (Revelation 1:8, Revelation 21:6, Revelation 22:13) that He is the Alpha and the Omega - the beginning and the end.

This is a most difficult concept for our finite minds to comprehend, but it is true, nonetheless. There is NO END to God, nor of His mercy, loving kindness and grace which He bestows on His children. What an awesome God He is, and what a privilege it is to be His child. I am so thankful, and when I am eating pizza next time, and the last piece is served, I will remember that our God is an everlasting God - He has no end!
