Support from Other NationsOne of the most hopeful side effects of the tragic American Holocaust of September 11, has been the tremendous outpouring of support from other nations.Of course the stories of courage and heroism in New York and D.C. have helped offset the tragedy. Heroic efforts of rescue workers, the show of volunteerism, support and solidarity from within the nation, even from those who often differ politically (more about this here) continue to work wonders toward uniting and healing the nation and mitigating this catastrophe. The many official statements from world governments have helped too. But somehow, when the support comes fromindividualsoutside our borders, it takes on an added dimension of encouragement. Here are a few of the international responses received here at Daily Wisdom: South Africa Warren, thank you for words of sanity and reason in today's Daily wisdom. We in South Africa started a prayer chain last night across the whole country, praying for the American people and the leadership of your country. We are both appalled and devastated by the enormity of this tragedy and pledge our prayerful support in the difficult days that lie ahead as the sane world comes to terms with this senseless act of terrorism. We are assured that God is still on the throne and that He is in control. May His love, His peace comfort all who mourn the loss of loved ones today. God's love conquers all and will never be defeated. Brazil Here in Brazil the people are completely shocked too. We could not stop watching TV all day long, and it was hard to believe in what we saw. I will pray and I am sure a lot of people of my country will do so. Stay with God. He will act through this saving souls. God bless you all. Kenya I am in prayer for your country and all its people. We watch it on the news and we are so affected by it, yet Kenya is thousands away from North America. Just a few minutes ago, in our daily staff devotions, we prayed for courage, for comfort, for restoration, for strength, for healing, for forgiveness and more, that the people of North America will find all these from the good Lord. Thank you so much that even in such trying time, you were still able to give us our word for today.I'll be in constant prayer. May you find peace of the Lord in its greatest measure today and in the days to come.
