Mr. Blue JayOne beautiful clear spring morning as my sister opened the door to leave for work, a little blue jay was fluttering at her doorwanting to come in. He was so close, she could see that he had only one leg and foot and on the other side was just a little stump. She opened her door and as she was walking to her car, the blue jay followed her and landed on the car door very close to her face. He wanted to fly into the car with her. She was so awed that a wild bird would want to come this close to her. Later that day, her husband came home from a fishing trip and there was Mr. Blue Jay again. He followed my sister's husband into their shed and sat there watching as Ricky put up his fishing gear. We didn't see Mr. Blue Jay for a few days and then the widow lady next door asked if we had seen her bird. She told us of how last December Mr. Blue Jay had shown up one day and was so tame and friendly and how he wanted to sit by her on the porch. She began to feed him pecans that she cracked and he would take them from her hand. We could all tell that someone must have taken this little injured bird in to their home and loved him and fed him and now he was free to fly on his own. Maybe you are wounded like this little blue jay and need someone to love and care for you. Well, there is good news. The Bible says in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." By accepting Jesus into your life, you can have the same confidence and boldness of this much-loved little blue jay as you come before God with all your needs and desires. The Bible says in Hebrews 4:16, "Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need." Give your life to Christ today and you can draw near to God without fear and He will always be there for you.
