Lead Me Your Own WayBefore heading to a team lunch, I asked my team leader about the way.He offered, "You can follow me. How about that?" It was a different leadership that time, being through his car lights and turn signals. I could hardly see him except for some hand gestures to show the way. However, believing he knows the way well, I followed silently and willingly. Similarly, our souls are driving through life in the "car" of flesh. Presumably, we know our destination (Heaven). Still we need our Leader, God, to show us the way. Without imposing His leadership, Jesus approaches us softly, "You can follow me. How about that?" Some may decline from the start and choose to make their own way. However, we may delightfully follow God. But when the journey prolongs, we start to mark our own way! Marks can be, "Well Lord, if you are really, really, leading me let me see you face to face, or let me have children or let me be a millionaire, or let me marry this person, or let me be famous, or heal me from this illness."Exactly as if I were to tell my lead, "If you are really leading me to the restaurant, let us pass by the Red Sea beaches on our way!" Our way to God may not have the rest stops we desire. But definitely, God provides us with the rest stops He omnipotently knows we need. Through the journey, we do not see Him face to face. But GodÂ’s signals and gestures through His Word and His Holy Spirit are apparent and enough. One day when we get out of the "car" of the flesh, we will delight in His face forever.
