Love Letters

I have a secret Love, who really isn't so secret at all. I think about Himoften, speaking highly of Him in public whenever I have good opportunity.Sometimes people turn away and shake their heads, but His love runs so deepthat I just want to run to the mountain tops and shout of how wondrous He is!He has been my Love since long ago, His devotion to me all these many yearsnever ceases to leave me in awe. Even at my worst, He was there to hold my hand, andat my best, His blessings shower my life with joy!When others have uttered unkind words, or hit me with betrayal, He alonestood bymy side; a pillar of strength, and a comforting pillow. Where human beingshave failed, He alone has stood firm. His love is unchangeable.

He is faithful, forgiving, merciful, and just, and despite these more gentlequalities, He is also powerful, knowledgeable and all-knowing!His love for me is so rich and all-encompassing that I cannot imagine everbeing without Him. I wouldn't want to be without Him, because a life withoutHis love, would be a fleeting and meaningless existence.

When I first met my husband many years ago, I had to let him know that if Iwere to marry him, He would have to accept me knowing I would always put myother Love first; before husband, children, and all worldly possessions.

Many years have passed and He is still a part of my family and my life. Iknow He will be there until the bitter end, and when I take my last breath,He alone will be there to carry me over the threshold between death and life.

I speak about God passionately because that is the type of relationship Hecalls us to have with Him. His undying love is not just for you or me, butfor all who seek truth and righteousness. Indeed, He is our Creator andHeavenly Father, but His love is so rich that even in the Bible, His SonJesus Christ, is regarded as the "husband," and the Church as His "bride." Ihave no doubt that it is God's desire forour relationship with Him to not only be fulfilling, but intimate. Secretswe might wish to tell a best friend, are best whispered into the attentiveear of our Heavenly Father, for unlike an earthly human, God's will is forour ultimate good.
