Cleave To The Cross

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way, and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all." - Isaiah 53:5-6The above Bible scripture begins and ends with Christ paying the price for our sins, but do you see what is sandwiched in the middle? A promise of healing!God sacrificed His Son, Jesus Christ, so that you and I may be saved from the very sins satan tries to condemn us with!

Have you recently made a decision to abandon sin and immorality, but are already beginning to lose focus on the salvation God has promised those who repent? Then direct your gaze to the cross! Fill your mind with that image of Christ paying the price so that we don't have to.

Healing comes not from dwelling on past sins and torturing yourself with guilt, but by allowing the love of God to soak through your heart and soul!Regarding past repentance of sins, we are told in the Bible,"...I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven." -Exodus 17:14When the Israelites came up out of Egypt, the Amalekites came against them with the sword. Just when God was starting to do something, Amalek (a figure of satan) was there to try and undo what God was doing.

As you focus on the cross, some individuals may try and steal away your new-found salvation, but just as in times past, God promises that our steadfastness will not be in vain!

"Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives rescued from the fierce? But this is what the LORD says : 'Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.'" -Isaiah 49:24-25

Notice the wording of the above Bible verse. Your marriage and your family are very precious to God, and He promises that if others persecute you due to your cleaving to the cross, God will deal justly with them.

We all have sinned. Only God is perfect. Whether you have already made a commitment to Christ, or are contemplating on doing so, no man will ever find salvation by remaining in sin. Sin will bind your neck like a noose, and sit upon your back as a heavy rock. There is no peace or joy in evil.

"When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer." Psalm 32:3-4

Today, won't you join me in cleaving to the cross? Alone we are weak, but with Christ, all things are possible!
